Design For Conversion

This is how you maximize sales

1. Identify Customer Needs

This sounds simple but most business owners get busy with the day to day aspects of running a business and they don't explicitly think about this.

Normally you have a pretty good idea of what customers want, but have you ever stopped and asked them what they want?

Most business owners have a "close but not perfect" understanding of what the customer wants.

2. Address Those Needs

You need answers to those main issues. The answers must be honest and real. I can dress up those answers in a very compelling way, but you need to have real answers.

3. Keep It Simple

Attention spans are short and getting shorter. A sentence works better than a paragraph.

The real skill in digital sales/marketing is in coming up with a message that is short and compelling.

That is WAY more difficult than it sounds.

4. Make It Gorgeous

Realistically the beauty of your website has nothing to do with the quality of the product/service you sell.

However that is not how people make decisions.

One of the core skills of a great web designer is building something that people just want to look at because it is so good looking.

5. Easy Conversion Process

I get so frustrated when a site has me ready to buy and then the checkout process is screwed up.

Or when I am ready to fill out a contact form and it has 15 fields.

If you want people to buy or contact you then it needs to be drop dead simple.
